The Race Question

Post by Fightersword »

Rather than go on a diatribe about spirit races (ya'll have all seen that plenty if you know me), let's use this topic to discuss what our spirits have told us about their race, and if it lines up with what we assumed about their race. We can also just discuss our thoughts about spiritual 'races' in general as a side thing.

Just to be clear, spirit race would be any of the identifying terms we use for these spirits, other than the neutral 'spirit lover'. So Succubus, incubus, Fairy (or one of the many types of fairies), Qarinah, Yaksi, Ghost, whatever.

The questions that I'd propose are the following:
1. If you can communicate with your entity in some way (telepathy, cards, pendulum, whatever you use), has it identified with any particular spiritual 'race' or dismissed the idea/given conflicting answers in a short time span?
2. Is this race the same one you thought it was when you summoned it (for most, that would mean a succubus)?
3. Has it ever changed the race it identified as, as far as you're aware?

My personal belief is that our racializing of entities is very flawed and used to fill in the gaps of knowledge we have about spirits in general, and that most of the time when race comes up in discussion with them, they simply identify as whatever you expect them/want them to be (this is usually assumed to be either due to a quirk in the mental translation of spirit communications, or them simply just wanting to please and not caring).

I'll answer my own questions, since it's only fair.

1. Yes, typically a fairy, the type of fairy being a Gwragedd Annwn.
2. No, as I simply assumed it was a succ at first, though I changed this assumption to fairy before I could regularly communicate with her, meaning the answer could be either/or depending on how you interpret it.
3. She 'decided' she was a Gwragedd Annwn when I was reading up on fairies. She does not change how she identifies, though I wonder if I decided she was another race (and that race had positive connotations), if she'd, or my translation, would switch to that one instead. That would be a difficult change to do however, and you can't exactly fake thinking differently with them.

They’re elusive buggers. I think a lot of it has to do with their lack of ego. From what I’ve observed in non-physical astral realms, nothing is solid. The laws about observation creating reality from quantum physics seems to more readily apply over there than it does in our own world. A blue flower can morph into a red rose when not being directly observed. The plates in my cupboard downstairs will have animals painted on them instead of apples during an out-of-body experience.

Yet my perception of what’s going on in those non-physical spaces could also be unreliable. Maybe the spirits have a solid identity and my own ideas about them are muddling things? That’s how certain I am of Catherine’s race: not very. Not certain at all.

I call her a succubus because that identifies what she does. She’s a non-physical being who seeks out intimacy with a human man. Beyond this basic premise, she appears to me in a myriad of forms that defy classification. When I ask her directly, I’ll get answers along these lines: “I’m like you.” “I don’t have a form.” “I’m a demoness, succubus, or djinn.” There’s never anything overtly specific.

That’s one reason why I enjoy her so much. As frustrating as this mystery might be at times, there’s a big part of me that would rather not pin down these spirits. Knowing everything takes the wonder and magic out of it.

I never got a clear answer on this, nor anything really. As in the stages of "saying whatever she thinks I want to hear." Communication being limited to very important things.

So I went to an "expert" to learn more, and I didn't quite expect what I was told. Which was the being interacting with me was / were "thought forms' or "tulpas" of my own creation that will eventually fully independent. Not necessarily a bad thing but also not my intent at all.

Don't take the words of so called experts as gospel. To be frank, most people will just do a reading and then tell you whatever either they think you want to hear or something that's at best a haphazard guess. The last thing you should be doing in a serious relationship with a spirit lover is allowing someone else to decide what you think about your spirit lover. That is giving them an immense amount of undeserved power over your relationship and understanding of your spirit lover.

To be frank, the process used to create a tulpa, assuming it isn't horseshit, is so markedly different from the process used to summon any spirit, including a spirit lover. You don't accidentally make tulpas, and you don't make tulpas through single rituals or workings, it's a very intensive mental process.

Yes, I agree. I guess doing that instead of being patient and working on spiritual development might be an error.

I take everything with skepticism but that's basically the problem with these sorts of things, of having little to go by.

DM me if you want and we can go over your communication with this expert if you want. It's not that you can never get good advice from a reading or an expert, it's that you usually won't. A much more fitting approach to the situation would be for us to go over what you know and the experiences you've had before and then to try and discern what we can from those. Readings (assuming that's what you got) are useful in some ways, but they are not shortcuts to understanding.
