Meditation

Meditation seems like it's very important for this kind of spiritual practice, or any really. For me it sort of varies, based on my own energy levels.

Which flows into another issue of being tired vs awake, falling asleep in the middle, or having too much energy to relax.

And there's also accidental meditation. "Highway hypnosis," or watching something boring on TV then falling into a light trance. Sometimes I think tuning out from streaming videos is better than anything meditative I can find.

Sometimes I do feel a little guilty if I don't purposely make time to just "quietly relax." But I feel like She checks in on me regardless. And I've managed to avoid burnout  Though I've also never managed to maintain a formal practice.

Then there's also the question of being actively thoughtful, or emotionally focused during it, or tuned out and receptive.

I guess you could say that I do an incidental form of meditation on the regular:
  • My daily encounters with Catherine.
  • Long walks sans all technology.
  • Practicing Hemi-sync and different conscious OBE techniques.
  • Exercise on the rowing machine.
Though I don't go out of my way to meditate specifically, I believe it is a good idea to have some sort of practice, especially in our current day with the endless distractions.

I've been using the old hemi-sync gateway experience tapes in order to train myself out of that problem. The goal of the program is to help the practitioner achieve that delicate balance of mind awake - body asleep. This state is essential for all kinds of spiritual work and is probably highly beneficial for interactions with succubi. I say "probably" because I only know this in theory. I've been a particularly tough nut to crack when it comes to the trance state because of indoctrination from my upbringing.

That's cool I never heard of hemisync before, going to try it out. I've read books on astral stuff but actually doing it is a different story.

I've had limited success with OOB or astral, very rarely I lay down to meditate and go instantly to a dream state.

You could try the indirect method, Jay:

This is the easiest method I've found for achieving an OBE/lucid dream state. Going straight from full waking consciousness to an OBE is a kind of balancing act. Again, mind awake - body asleep.

That's a really good guide! I've done the wake / sleep lucid thing a few times.
