The Race Question

Rather than go on a diatribe about spirit races (ya'll have all seen that plenty if you know me), let's use this topic to discuss what our spirits have told us about their race, and if it lines up with what we assumed about their race. We can also just discuss our thoughts about spiritual 'races' in general as a side thing.
Just to be clear, spirit race would be any of the identifying terms we use for these spirits, other than the neutral 'spirit lover'. So Succubus, incubus, Fairy (or one of the many types of fairies), Qarinah, Yaksi, Ghost, whatever.
The questions that I'd propose are the following:
1. If you can communicate with your entity in some way (telepathy, cards, pendulum, whatever you use), has it identified with any particular spiritual 'race' or dismissed the idea/given conflicting answers in a short time span?
2. Is this race the same one you thought it was when you summoned it (for most, that would mean a succubus)?
3. Has it ever changed the race it identified as, as far as you're aware?
My personal belief is that our racializing of entities is very flawed and used to fill in the gaps of knowledge we have about spirits in general, and that most of the time when race comes up in discussion with them, they simply identify as whatever you expect them/want them to be (this is usually assumed to be either due to a quirk in the mental translation of spirit communications, or them simply just wanting to please and not caring).
I'll answer my own questions, since it's only fair.
1. Yes, typically a fairy, the type of fairy being a Gwragedd Annwn.
2. No, as I simply assumed it was a succ at first, though I changed this assumption to fairy before I could regularly communicate with her, meaning the answer could be either/or depending on how you interpret it.
3. She 'decided' she was a Gwragedd Annwn when I was reading up on fairies. She does not change how she identifies, though I wonder if I decided she was another race (and that race had positive connotations), if she'd, or my translation, would switch to that one instead. That would be a difficult change to do however, and you can't exactly fake thinking differently with them.
